ZINE

Toska

hand-made photo zine | small edition

Toska photography project prints on a paper cutter.

Toska is a handmade photo zine about inner emigration and the emotional disorientation caused by living under a political regime. The word itself is almost impossible to translate. It holds longing, fear and grief at once.

Made with grainy black and white photographs, fragments of text and hand-bound pages, the zine moves through blurred bodies, disappearing faces and unstable landscapes.

The work exists as a small, fragile object. Its material form becomes part of its meaning: paper, thread, scale and touch turn into ways of holding a state that does not fully belong to language.
